The Still AXL 15 iGo is an autonomously driving electric pallet truck that can independently unload and load containers.
According to Still, this makes it possible to automate the loading and unloading process on a large scale, significantly reducing the need for human labor. By standardizing loading and unloading processes, reproducible workflows are created.
Two of these pallet trucks can autonomously load up to 30 EPAL pallets into a trailer in approximately 35 minutes. Using location and positioning logic combined with a new safety concept, the truck independently recognizes the situation in the trailer and positions the pallets.
The AXL 15 iGo does not require an additional Safety-at-the-Gate concept involving stationary installations such as scanners or reflectors on the loading dock or in the trailer. As a result, the solution is highly flexible and quick and easy to implement. For safe handling and precise navigation, the AXL 15 iGo combines two different technologies: outside the trailer, it utilizes 3D Visual SLAM technology. Using sensors, it detects if a truck unexpectedly drives off the loading dock during loading and then stops automatically – both during trailer loading and unloading.
As soon as the AXL 15 iGo is active inside the trailer, the system automatically switches to LiDAR-based positioning for centimeter-precise operation and maximum flexibility. LiDAR safety scanners, camera systems, and visual and acoustic warning signals ensure that people and obstacles are detected even in the tightest spaces. Furthermore, the integrated 3D pallet detection enables safe handling, even of slightly shifted or non-ideally placed pallets in predetermined locations.
The Still AXL 15 iGo has a load capacity of 1500 kg and a speed of up to 2 m/s. Scalable fleet integration is possible via the standard VDA 5050 interface and a Fleetmanager, but also via interfaces to warehouse management systems.
